Facts

The most essential gift of God for our life without which our live is totally impossible is water; we don’t even bother how much water we are consuming in our daily life and still it never ends. The modern era of globalization has though affected the usable water reservoirs but let us think, how much do we know about this most important element for life? Most of the people might end up their information regarding water by saying that most of our earth surface contains water. There are many facts related to water which are quite amazing and interesting and here I am going to show you some of those facts so let’s have a look.

1.When a child came to this world then at that time of his birth 80 percent of body’s weight accounts for water.
2.Less than 1 percent of water on this planet is fresh water.
3.The human brain is made up of approximately 85% water.
4.Poor people living in the slums often pay 5-10 times more per liter of water than wealthy people living in the same city.
5.Over 50 percent of all water projects fail and less than five percent of projects are visited, and far less than one percent have any longer-term monitoring.
6.The weight a person loses directly after intense physical activity is weight from water, not fat.
7.By the time a person feels thirsty, his or her body has lost over 1 percent of its total water amount.
8.The earth is a closed system, similar to a terrarium, meaning that it rarely loses or gains extra matter. The same water that existed on the earth millions of years ago is still present today.
9.In a 100-year period, a water molecule spends 98 years in the ocean, 20 months as ice, about 2 weeks in lakes and rivers, and less than a week in the atmosphere.
