The earth is blessed with abundance of water. Therefore, it is also called as 'Blue Planet'. Water is cyclic resource, it can be used again and again by re-using it. Water undergoes a cycle from ocean to land and from land to ocean. The cycle describes the movement of water on, in and above the earth. The cycle is on from billions of years and will be continue if steps would be taken for conservation of water. The life on earth depends on cycle also called as hydrological cycle. Water on earth is not distributed equally somewhere thee is plenty of water and somewhere not a single drop.
Circulation of water in hydrosphere is in different forms i.e. liquid, solid, and gaseous forms is Hydrological Cycle. About 71% of water is found in oceans. The remaining if freshwater in glaciers, icecaps, groundwater sources, lakes, soil, atmosphere, rivers. About 59% of water that falls on land returns to atmosphere through evaporation from oceans and other places.
“Water is life's mater and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.” Albert Szent. Unless we take quick action to save water, this ‘elixir of life’ will change to muddy swamps and no longer be there to support human life anymore. We should NOT be saying like the Ancient Mariner of Coleridge- Water, water, everywhere, Not any drop to drink.
