The dependence on ground water as a reliable source for meeting requirements for irrigation, drinking and industrial uses in India has been rising rapidly during last few years. Ground water development has occupied an important place in water management in India. In some parts of country has reached at a critical stage, resulting acute shortage of water. Overdevelopment of the ground resources has resulted in declining of level of ground water, shortage in water supply, increasing salinity of ground water. Worsening ground water quality has also adversely affected the availability of fresh ground water in some areas.
